In the Chinese market, Herbalife continues to strengthen its localized development strategy. Leveraging the large-scale production capabilities of its manufacturing bases in Suzhou and Changsha, as well as the R&D expertise of its Global Product Innovation Center (GPIC) in Shanghai, the company has established a comprehensive weight management industrial chain system covering research and development, production, and services.

This role will be mainly responsible for leading public affairs team to support Herbalife’s business in South China (Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Hainan, Hunan and Jiangxi). To be specific, this role will establish and maintain good relationship with local government, media and other external stakeholders, to build and enhance Herbalife reputation, support daily business operation and business growth of Herbalife in the South China. This role needs to work closely with other teams at Herbalife South China and all relevant teams across the nation, as well as distributors in the assigned region. 

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE: (Responsibilities and tasks associated with the job) *limit to 8-10 bullets 

• Lead and develop public affairs plans to support business continuity and growth in the assigned region
• Build and maintain productive relationship with external stakeholder related to Herbalife’s business in South China, including but not limited to government, industry associations, chambers and media. The government stakeholders covering those departments might affect Herbalife’s daily operation, including but not limited commerce bureaus, local AMRs, police offices, sanitation, city administration, etc.
• Actively seek opportunities for cooperation between corporate and external stakeholders, to enhance corporate reputation and support business growth in the assigned region
• Monitor and collect any updated regulations or policies on direct selling and health industries from time to time, and provide timely guidance to commercial teams and distributors to ensure stable business operation.  
• Timely and appropriately handle any emergency or crisis as needed 
• Other jobs related to the corporate reputation and business operation in the assigned region, including but not limited to execution of corporate social responsibility programs

• Lead public affairs team and provide daily guidance to team members in the assigned region

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: (List requirements, including education and experience needed for the job) *limit 6-7 bullets

• Work independently with little guidance
• Have good leadership skills and strong organizational skills 
• Have strong problem-solving capabilities; and proven ability to work well under pressure
• Outstanding written, verbal communications and presentation skills in Mandarin Chinese; good command of written and verbal communication in English 
• Have good interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Be creative, passionate, patient and flexible; be able to react positively to challenge and change
• Above five years’ experience with well-established international companies in government affairs; prior experience in consumer goods, pharmaceutical, nutrition or similar fields would be advantageous

Education

• Bachelor’s degree is mandatory, a major in Politics, International Relations, Business Management or the equivalent is preferred
